York Races, October 2024
The final race meeting on the Knavesmire had quickly come round after another vintage season of racing at York. This popular two day meeting provides an early Autumn flourish of good quality action before the action falls silent once again for the winter.
Friday's card is headlined by an ultra valuable sales race for juveniles over seven furlongs, a relatively new addition to the calendar but is often well contested. Elsewhere, a class two handicap for stayers of the future has been won by some high class horses in the past and notebooks would be at the ready once again.
Saturday would continue with the theme of quality as the class two Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap would see another wide open contest filled with returning faces. The listed Rockingham Stakes also has the potential to unveil a new sprinting star and a ten furlong handicap on the card also has a famous roll of honour.
